Buhler Thomas Law is a dedicated immigration law firm focused exclusively on U.S. immigration matters. The team develops customized, well-planned legal strategies tailored to each client’s situation rather than relying on generic templates.

Founding attorney Kim Buhler-Thomas has more than 30 years of experience practicing immigration law and guiding clients through complex U.S. immigration processes.

The firm assists with non-immigrant visas, immigrant visas, family-based and employment-based immigration, green cards, and naturalization. Buhler Thomas Law also advises employers on compliance, including PERM labor certifications and employment-based sponsorship.

Appointments and Payments

You can schedule an appointment through the “Schedule an Appointment” portal on the website or by calling the office directly. New clients are encouraged to complete the online intake form in advance so the attorney can review their situation before the meeting.

Yes. Buhler Thomas Law offers video and telephone consultations to clients throughout the United States and around the world.

Office hours are Monday–Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The office is closed on weekends and on designated holidays.

New clients should complete the online client intake form before their consultation and bring any relevant immigration notices, passports, and prior applications, if available.

Clients may pay through the firm’s secure online payment portal, and additional payment arrangements can be discussed with the office as needed.

Kim Buhler-Thomas is the firm’s founder and lead attorney. She has over three decades of experience in immigration law and represents both individual and corporate clients in a wide range of immigration matters.

Kim earned her J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School and holds a B.A. in International Relations with an emphasis in Chinese language.

Kim is licensed to practice law in Utah and admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah. She has been an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) for many years.

Yes. Attorney David B. Thomas also practices with the firm. He is licensed in Utah and Idaho and admitted to practice before several federal courts.

I highly recommended attorney Kim. I came to the USA on a fiancé visa. Her and her team work really efficiently and effectively. They helped me prep the documents for adjustment of status (I-485). After submitting, it only take 3 months for USCIS to approve my green card. Anyone who is filing for I-485, I highly recommend using her service. If you file on your own to save money, you might end up missing documents and significant delay your EAD and green card.

Person in charge with scheduling is very incompetent. Talked to her 3 days a go and she told me to expect a call from Kim for their consultation on Friday around noon. I patiently waited for them to call me but it never happened. So i called their office and talked to her again and she was apologetic about the situation. I told her its okay I understand. And told me that she needs to talk to kim again and will give me a call back. After she's done talking to her. 1 hour passed still haven't heard from them. And i called again and asked her what is going on and told me to get another schedule for next week. I wasted my time trying to wait for them to call me which never happened and i have to be the one reminding her about it.

Update: 10/2/23
Kim personally reached out to us and made amends for what had happened with the scheduling. Kim was very professional and was able to answer our questions. Make us understand what we need based on our situation. I want to thank her for the effort she made to call us back.

Buhler Thomas Law, P.C. was extremely helpful with our very long process of getting our US Permanent Residence. It was a complicated process mainly due to compiling documentation from several countries where we lived and keeping track of all that was quite challenging. The Buhler Thomas team was very patient and persistent specially with reloading info every time there was a comment/rejection from NVC. In the end, we managed to get through the entire process despite some delays caused by reiteration of document uploading and finally we were called for a personal interview at the consulate and from there a final check/interview at Immigration in the US.
